True Blood 2.02

sister_luckBefore I get started with another batch of ironing (and re-watching Veronica Mars), here are some thoughts on some television I watched.
We're pretty much behind with our True Blood viewing but episode 2 had a great quote and seems to promise a good season ahead. I like how Jason's storyline is turning out to give us some commentary on intolerant 'churches', which are probably better called cults or sects. I wonder how Jason will cope when the leader's wife makes a move on him and how creepy was that abstinence song? Jason's room-mate provided the best line: "Muslim Buffy with a dick" and I guess deep down he's got the hots for Jason, too. The other two storylines aren't quite as interesting, especially Sookie as the stepmom to vampire teen Jessica has so far been very predictable. Maryanne still intrigues me - she seems to like manipulating people just for fun and without an ulterior motive. She seems to be modelled on the Maenads - there was something very bacchanalian about the scene in the bar. Oh, and Lafayette as a vamp? That would be preferable to no Lafayette at all.
