Bowie trivia and a strange connection
Jan. 8th, 2007 06:40 pmSo, it's David Bowie's 60th birthday and the BBC provides us with sixty more or less curious facts about him - some were new and interesting to me, some decidedly odd, others slightly pointless.
The weird thing about it? On Saturday we watched a documentary about The History of the Curly Perm and that included a clip of factoid 11:
At the age of 17, he was interviewed on a BBC programme as the founder of The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Long-haired Men. He complained: "It's not nice when people call you darling and that".
We laughed, but didn't recognize him. I might have to re-watch that bit just to make sure it's really him. I also didn't recognize him in The Prestige even though I had read, but instantly forgotten that he was part of the film. I was actually quite distracted as I knew I knew the actor, but just couldn't work out who he was. I hate it when that happens.
