Yesterday was the hottest day so far this year - up to 35° Celsius, but last night we got thunderstorms with lots of lightning and rain. They are such a regular feature of the summer holidays that when I stayed with my older cousins, my uncle dubbed me Gewitterhexe because when I was around there were also thunderstorms.

Today has been a really grey day with lots of drizzle, about fifteen degrees colder than yesterday. I've got a foul black mood to match the weather and it's getting on my nerves though I'm well aware of the fact that I have to be patient with myself and just accept the sadness. Weather the storm so to speak.

Your weather sounds almost identical to ours - but we managed to avoid storms, we just had heavy rain.

We had lots of thunder and lightning last night - it added some extra flavour to the Dr. Who episodes we're catching up on. We didn't have hail this time - my colleague who lives just across the river had hail damage twice this year and her car looks like a real mess.

And changing weather always plays on someone's mood, doesn't it?
We've got the same rainy and grey weather here today. The storms mostly avoided us, but my sister got heavy thunder and lightning above her head yesterday evening.

I know, I just don't particularly like being sad and scared and conflicted and self-loathing and angry and self-pitying and all that...

The beginning of the holidays is always a weird time - all the stress is gone and so on, but right now it's just not fun, but it's okay, because yeah, it's like a thunderstorm and they sometimes end with rainbows and I love them. And no, you don't get rainbows without the rain.

Seems like you don't really know how you should feel -- and you know what: it's all okay. There isn't anything you should or shouldn't. It's a rollercoaster, emotionally speaking, but I'm confident you'll muddle through.
