The tree in my last picspam doesn't seem to be a Robinia - I had a look at the leaves and they are different, I think. Of course, there weren't any leaves when the tree was flowering, so I didn't notice. Any idea what it might be?
Three weeks ago the weather was similar to today - though it was slightly warmer, the grey and occasional drizzle were the same. But with a new car you just have to drive around and here are some of the resulting pictures.
The river pictures haven't been altered - it was already early evening, and with the day being overcast there just wasn't much light:
Where we live, the river is wide and calm.

We're lucky that in some places the flood plains and flood meadows have been preserved. Willows are typical for these areas.

I had some problems with the colours here, because there wasn't enough light. With the flash it looked very artificial, but even without it I wasn't happy with the colours, but my fiddling seems to have made it worse. (Which picture looks better to you?)

Date: 2008-06-14 11:37 am (UTC)I should have put my question differently and asked which seems to have the more natural colours. I think the first one is slightly too green and the second one is slightly too red.

Date: 2008-06-14 03:47 pm (UTC)I won't say yet which is the one that hasn't been tinkered with but I think in general it is very difficult to adjust colour on a computer because it seems that everyone's monitor is slightly different. Ours is fairly dark compared with what some others get (which I know because a lot of pictures others post are very dark and murky for me) even though we calibrated and tested our monitor according to some standard. It's probably a bit like with televisions which are often on a too bright setting for me.

Date: 2008-06-15 09:55 am (UTC)I usually leave my pictures alone, too, but this time I just wanted to see if I could improve them. I think in future I'll just let them be.
