Apocalypse averted
Jun. 1st, 2008 03:58 pmWatching Children of Men a few weeks after devastating natural disasters have occured around the world doesn't make you feel really confident about the future. It becomes worse when it coincides with a week of near-apocalyptic weather: We've had flooding, huge hailstones, thunderstorms, lightning, complete darkness in the middle of the day and Blutregen.
Today it is sunny again. I'm just glad that the really big hailstones didn't come down on my car. And as some of you might remember, I like going to the carwash, so I'm looking forward to getting rid of all the red dust from the Sahara which currently makes my car look like a reverse leopard.

Date: 2008-06-02 03:56 am (UTC)I hate the part where I have to maneuver the car into position for the contraption that pulls it through the carwash, but once I'm inside, it's great. I do think though that the logistics of taking a car from Brussels through a German carwash are bit too much for me.

My colleague's car has got lots of tiny dents from the hail and there was even one smashed bit of plastic. (The greenhouse in their garden, the veranda roof etc. were damaged, too.) And that's just across the river....
