I missed school today because my car got rear-ended by a huge lorry full of rubbish. I'm fine, but the car isn't. It all happened because a stupid silver van person (a close relative of the dreaded white van man) decided to change lanes right next to me, so I had to brake and the lorry behind me wasn't able to stop quickly enough and hit my poor little car. Of course, the silver van sped off, but I was able to get a partial plate for it.

So, because I'm still slightly shaken and spent the afternoon getting the car to the dealer/workshop to have the damage evaluated, you'll have to wait a little longer for the pictures and stories of my trip down south.

I'm relieved that you are unhurt at least. Nasty silver van man. ::hugs::

Thanks for the hugs.

It could have been so much worse - I was still moving when the lorry hit me, so the impact wasn't too bad. The dustman driver was genuinely sorry for not getting his lorry to stop quickly enough, but he did his best and more or less gently nudged me (relatively speaking of course - as gently as a a huge lorry full of rubbish can nudge a small car).

Yikes. I'm glad you're okay but still. Car accidents are no fun.

I'm just glad it that it's just the car and that it wasn't my fault - in all the other accidents I've had I've been to blame.

Vans are obviously evil and must be slayed !

I'm relieved that you're safe, and even though I odn't own a car I guess how upsetting it is.

*hugs*

Well, the van is the one that was completely unharmed and got away! - I do hope that the police manage to identify the car and the driver, so that the poor dustman doesn't get the full blame.

Thanks for the hugs and kind words.

Poor little red car. Hope you can have evereything repaired.

Glad you're okay, and booh silver van person.

White van man = child kidnapper over here. (Both Dutroux and Fourniret had one.)

I'm waiting for the evaluation of the damage - it's quite possible that the damage is so extensive that repairing the car won't be worth it and I might end up having to get a new one. We'll see.

This is especially eerie after having heard via my flist of [livejournal.com profile] anjenue who passed away in a car accident a few days ago.

Thank goodness you're alright!

I'm really really glad that I got out of this unharmed - it could have been really nasty.
