The Letter Meme of Favourite Things
Feb. 20th, 2008 05:34 pmLet's see:
1. Reading
The obvious one first. I swear that words attack me and demand to be read. I like losing myself in a book. I like learning new useless facts which I promptly forget again.
2. Rocks
While I'm not really a mountain person, I do like rocks in any shape or form. Small pebbles and cliffs and so on.
3. Rock
I like music that rocks and/or grooves.
4. Riddles
I'm actually cheating here, but crosswords don't start with an R and the clues are riddles in a way.
5. Relaxing
I'm lazy.
6. Roads and road trips
Motorways don't do it for me, but driving along winding country roads is fun and there's so much to see.
7. Rainbows
Rain is not one of my favourite things, especially if there's too much of it and life becomes grey, but without rain there wouldn't be any rainbows. They're magical, whether there's a pot of gold or not, and they're a sign of hope for me.
8. Ranting
No, not religious rants, but I find complaining angrily very therapeutic. I also enjoy other people's rants, as long as their anger is justified - or it's such a minor issue, that it's just funny.
9. Rhubarb
True summer food. Especially delicious in the form of a rhubarb meringue pie made by my "day care mom". It's a childhood thing.
10. Rocket
or as the North Americans say arugula or as I say rucola. Can you tell that I'm running out of ideas and that I'm hungry? It's a bit of a faddish food, and the whole craze might already be over, but I like it, especially in the form of rocket pesto.
Any totally obvious Rs I've missed?

Date: 2008-02-20 07:38 pm (UTC)It's been ages since I had anything with home-made rhubarb - that might be a cooking project for summer. It's definitely very much connected with childhood memories.

Date: 2008-02-21 06:19 am (UTC)Hmm, Roquefort is nice, but I don't get it often, because I'm the only one around here who can stand its sight. Rocky Balboa is not for me.
The whole meme was actually harder than I thought.

R... That one happens to be very important family-wise for me. ;-)
And I just love to rrrrrroll 'em.

Date: 2008-02-21 06:21 am (UTC)Yes, I was thinking about saying something about the fact that my first and middle name start with an R but then I can't have myself as one of my favourite things, can I? I'm not a thing!
I can't roll 'em properly - not with my tongue.
