I spent today inside a book. Sometimes I'm amazed at how you can disappear into a fictional world and live other people's lives and later emerge as if from a dream and everything around you is still the same.

I disabled the visual previews because I find them incredibly annoying. For some reason, (and I bet there's a connection) I also had to remove a 'post to journal link' that had suddenly appeared in my Opera taskbar.

Reading is the very same way for me. I've been reading a lot lately, and I completely bury myself in the book and characters when I do.

So what's this visual preview thing? I don't think I've got that, or if I have, I haven't noticed it yet.

Livejournal gave it to the freeloaders with and without ads, but you can opt out, which I did. It's in the latest lj news. They'd talked about them before, but I can't quite remember whether they gave them to paid users first. It's basically a little popup that opens when you hover on a link embedded in your journal. It clutters up the journal.

Oh yeah, I remember now. I think paid did get that a while back, and I turned it off too.

I'm so stuck in my LJ ways. I don't usually like the new things. I like mys screen to stay the same.

Yep, and now that I've left the characters I still wonder what's going on in their world.

Oh and of course, they're called graphic previews because visual previews is just too much of a tautology.

Oh and for some reason the previews still show up on your journal for me. Did you enable them again?

It's weird because I can't see them...

How did you disable yours? I used the option that appeared on the top of one of the visual previews and check off "disable all" and then they all vanished.

Hmm, they're gone now. I think the way to disable them forever is to change it in the viewing options in the account settings.

I didn't even notice the little buggers until you mentioned them. Was very quick to disable the annoying visual previews. Damn, how I hate it when someone has them on their site, so I wouldn't want them on mine.
