English Street Art
Aug. 14th, 2005 12:46 pmI'm a big fan of graffiti and street art of any kind (I even own a book about it). Many thanks go out to
frances_lievens for alerting me to the great Wooster Collective site.
Of course, with my new digital camera I had to take pictures of the street art I found during my trip to England. There isn't anything spectacular in the pictures (and some of them have been taken at weird angles), but I still want to post them. So, if you wanna see, they're behind the cut.
Let's do this chronologically.

Found in Canterbury.

Brighton. (There is lots of great stuff there as you can see on Wooster, but alas I didn't see much.)

This was on the back of a beach hut in Budleigh Salterton.

Newquay.

Salisbury.

Salisbury again (and the bin wasn't straight).

Date: 2005-08-14 09:34 am (UTC)I also went looking for street art in Canada, but alas, didn't take many pictures of them because I was working with a normal camera and can't see immediately if it's okay or not. (And yes, I will scan some pictures from my trip tomorrow...)
Thanks,
Date: 2005-08-14 09:56 am (UTC)I was wondering whether you had taken any pictures in Canada.... Looking forward to them and I won't feel as bad when I continue spamming my flist with England pictures.

Date: 2005-08-14 11:14 pm (UTC)We have some really great though self-gratifying art - that is graffiti - that travels around our country on railroad boxcars. It's what makes getting caught by the many long freight trains that criss-cross my county tolerable.

Date: 2005-08-15 05:55 am (UTC)In my hometown, there is a lot of graffiti, too - mostly tags (which are a bit boring really, but I do get their point) and big pieces next to the railway lines. Some stencils and very few stickers. I'll take my camera along with me to record some of it (which will slightly annoy the boyfriend, but what can I do, it's hereditary).
