The small town or rather village were we stayed is situated on a hill and picturesque in a sleepy sort of way. Here's the church:

Here's the view from the fields:

No classtrip is complete without a shopping spree in the biggest city within reach. That was Fulda for us.

Here's its magnificent cathedral...

Picturesque indeed!

Your first photo made me smile because I tend to take the same kind of picture.

That village/town had that very typical clean and picturesque look of German holiday destinations. Everything's scrubbed, people are proud of the flowers in their gardens and on their window sills and so on. Still, there were some little signs like a closed shop that life isn't that easy.

There were people hanging about and I didn't want to have them in the picture and my colleague was keen to walk on, so I had to find an angle without the tourists. I'm sometimes silly that way.

I always try to avoid tourists as well.

The cloudy sky was quite dramatic on the chruch pictures.

It was like that the whole day and the great thing is that we didn't get wet - just clouds and the water got dumped elsewhere!
