Just to let you know....
Sep. 23rd, 2007 01:10 pmI'm back from the wilderness. The trip wasn't as successful as we hoped, but we had expected a certain resistance. There were no major catastrophes. I'm tired even though I got enough sleep.
There will be pictures and tales soon when things have settled a bit.
Now it's off to marking hell and cleaning this place and taking care of family stuff.
Oh, and the autumn weather is absolutely beautiful.

The definition of wilderness really depends on your definition of civilization, doesn't it? For my students who pretend they're big city kids our destination was the sticks. Hic sunt dragones and so on - but then the wildest animal they encountered was a young cat that they took into their house even though we had warned them that it would end badly.... The wildest animal I met was a fox.
Black Forest is the best guess but it was even closer than that...
