Boat trip.

I've mentioned before that the boyfriend spent two holidays in Portugal as a teen, haven't I? Of course, we had to see what had happened to his favourite beach. According to him, there were a couple of more visitors, a new beach 'bar' and a proper car park, but apart from that it hadn't changed much. There were still plastic boats with pedals for rent - not the exact same ones of course - (are they pedal boats in English? Is there a word for them?), so we took a short tour - just half an hour and that was way too short and we were in a terrible rush to get back to the beach, because I can't read a watch.
Here's a view of Praia da Marinha from the top of the cliffs.

We took the boat right around the corner, but here's a view of the quiet part of the beach first:

And here you can see this beach from the water:

Some cliffs:

The arc that we pedalled through (always minding the divers and the other boats):

Getting closer:

More cliffs and grotto around the corner:

This one is too dark on my computer screen, but maybe something shows up for you:

The view of Praia da Marinha from afar:

This was taken shortly before we realized that we had to get back to the beach asap as our time was nearly up. Have I mentioned that this was the second time I've been on one of those boats and relied on the boyfriend to tell me what to do? I got a bit panicky, but we made it back safe and sound (and dry).

I had thought that there would be many more older buildings, but of course with the big earthquake and tsunami lots of buildings were destroyed.
