You've given me lots of inspiration for the lovesongs lessons. Thank you so much!
I'll let you know how the whole thing works out, but it'll be a while, because I have to finish something else first and from the 17th on I will be on that classtrip with my form for five days and then it's already two weeks of autumn holidays. Don't worry about me though, I'll have plenty of marking to do.

I don't like Mondays especially if I haven't had enough sleep. At ten o'clock last night we just had to go on watching Dr Who, because the next episode was the one with Tony Head. I think I like the second season/series a little better than the first one, even though I absolutely love Christopher Eccleston.

Well, watching that ep wasn't really the problem but then there was a car alarm going off somewhere in the neighbourhood (twice - of course) and after that I was wide awake. Gah, I was a grumpy person this morning - and through most of the day! My poor colleagues had to listen to me whine - just like you - and the students didn't see my best side.

But all your song suggestions brought a smile to my face, the boyfriend planned a lesson for me (yeah, I keep joking I'm actually two teachers) by videotaping the live debate from West Wing and designing a handout and now he's making dinner and tomorrow I only have two lessons, so I'm rather happy now.

Season 3 is even better than season 2. I can't wait for you to see it!

I'm already looking forward to it. I did like the first season, but it was kind of exposition-heavy and at the same time a bit too light-weight. The end of the first season and now the second season pile on the issues and have loads of great ideas. Queen Victoria! Horror school!

Hrrumph, I have to do all the lesson prep myself. But my bf does make dinner, and does computer type stuff when I ask him nicely.

The bf often does the computer stuff - he's been editing and burning political speeches last week and he designed some great excel spreadsheets whatchamacallits for marking over the last couple of years, but coming up with a handout (and without any prompting from me) was a really nice surprise. I had asked him to tape a West Wing episode to watch with my students after the exam and he's fallen in love with the live debate, so it came natural, I guess. It IS brilliant acting and story-telling and it fits with what we're doing at the moment.
