Better days.
Aug. 21st, 2007 06:48 pmBecause it's grey and there's a lot of rain and I've been stuck in conferences this afternoon, here are some pictures from my holiday:
Another rocky beach:

Loulé:

Lagos:

I got a postcard from Vienna sent by certain travelling friends. Has anyone heard from them lately? I hope that Rome has been treating them well. Speaking of postcards - I hope the ones I sent out arrived. Next time I'll ask for more addresses - promised!

Date: 2007-08-21 05:31 pm (UTC)I got your card and I'm ashamed to say that I just found out in the pocket of my small backpack the one I wrote for you in Mykonos! I don't know why it didn't get posted with the others. I shall post it tomorrow.
On the other hand since none of the postcards I sent from the Greek islands have arrived yet, you may get yours before everybody!

Date: 2007-08-21 05:41 pm (UTC)Ah, I'm glad you got yours! Don't worry about my card.
BTW, did I remember to wish you a Happy Birthday on your card? I meant to, but then I wasn't sure about the exact date... So if I didn't, here are my very very late birthday wishes!
Have you had a chance to look at the other pics I posted?
I'm really looking forward to yours. (*hint, hint*)

Date: 2007-08-21 05:52 pm (UTC)I think I'm confused because I can't remember who got birthday wishes and who didn't. It was Frances who didn't get her birthday wishes on her card because she was on the road anyway.
My biggest confusion at the moment though is that there's one kid who keeps insisting that he paid in cash for the classtrip and I don't recollect that and neither does my colleague. Now I've got to call his mum and don't quite know what to say....

Date: 2007-08-21 10:56 pm (UTC)You asked me on one of your previous posts and I forgot to come back and answer, but no, I haven't been to Europe at all. Never. I'm very inexperienced and insufficient with my international travel. James says we will in a few years though. There's much we insist on seeing at least once in our lives.

Date: 2007-08-22 02:57 pm (UTC)The green building was one of my favourites, too. Lagos is a very friendly and picturesque little town, quite touristy in places, but the bars and restaurants were nice enough.
It's good that you're already planning ahead a little and thinking about coming to Europe. Hope it works out! There's so much to see and so much that I haven't seen either. That said, I haven't seen much of the whole American continent(s) except for the city of New York in 2001. It's on my list, but I think I'll wait a while.
