Mar. 12th, 2007 06:54 pmI really should be marking. I really should, but it's too beautiful outside.
I can't really tell you why - it's probably part of my fascination with decay - but I really like rust. I hate touching rusty surfaces as they leave your hands discoloured and they feel really harsh and ugly, but the way rust changes the appearance of once uniform metal? I like that. It's the different colours, the patches of rust in all kinds of shapes. Add some random tagging, the evening sun and I want to take a picture.

Sometimes advertising creates interesting effects. I wonder what kind of conversation these two might be having.

In the park, the magnolias are starting to bloom. They're not yet in their full glory, but they're already quite spectacular. It's always weird seeing a bare tree with no green awash with white flowers tinged with a little pink. I'm not even sure I like them that much.

Cities are full of rubbish and then, in the oddest places, nature fights back and adds a little colour. I can't decide whether this is a sad or hopeful picture. What do you think?

I've got a huge deadline on Thursday (got to hand in nearly all my marks for the term) and I'm not happy about that. Looks like it's Marking Season everywhere...
