After the storm

It was still dark this morning and wet, so I didn't see what Kyrill had done to the world around me. Later, when there was enough light to see out of the windows of the classroom I was teaching in we discovered that a huge tree had been uprooted behind the building but outside the schoolgrounds. On my way back home, the sun came out. There were still big white-grey clouds, but the light was very powerful and everything looked freshly scrubbed. I saw some trees with missing limbs and others that had fallen over.
Last night was relatively quiet - the windows rattled a bit, sirens kept blaring through the night, but from my point of view this wasn't half as scary as expected. I've been lucky though - other places have been hit far worse.
I hope all of you are safe and stayed indoors during the worst of it.
