In the middle of nowhere near Lagos, Portugal, there is a small zoo. These are sometimes drab places, but this was pretty good. The one that is around the corner from here is much worse - I was very glad when they got rid of the bear enclosure and sent the two animals to a wildlife park.
They had lots of birdlife:
The usual parrots, parrakeets and this cockatoo:
Also, lots of different hornbills.
Impressive bill but not very colourful:
These had the colour AND the bill:
Pelican (who lived with the lemurs):
Not a bird, but capable of flight:
More animals to come.
