Golden Bay.
Aug. 5th, 2015 11:29 pmOur first holiday in Lagos, Portugal was in 2007. In 2013, we returned with kid in tow. Things hadn't changed much, but the ruin of the never-finished hotel above the bay was about to get a second chance.
Someone had put up a huge banner to advertise the potential of the place:

As you can see in the mock-up picture the building has two parts and it is actually L-shaped with a walkway above the road connecting both.
Here is its second half:

Our apartment was not very far away and after a particularly stormy evening there was this strange noise that we couldn't identify - flap, flap, flap. The next day we found out what it was - the banner had torn loose and only half of it was still attached to the building.
You might be able to guess that in 2015, it was still a ruin, but a very pretty one bathed in the evening sun:
