This clown family shows you that it is hard work being up there on the float and tossing samples of cleaning cloth at the expectant crowds.
Here a clownfish gives away sweets - you can just about make them out on their flightpath.

The clownfish was only one among many ocean-dwellers - this year's carnival motto described our city as a "pearl" within our region. Pearls come from the sea and thus many a costume idea was born.
Here are some of the city's female pearls:

There were seahorses, too:

Happily waving at the crowds:

No chance of catching any sweets, but the best view:

Sometimes the costumed creatures came together to have a drink:

(Many of those who walked in the parade had a small shot glass on a string around their necks for easy re-fueling along the way.)

I wonder how uncomfortable and/or heavy these were!
