Lighthouse photodump.
Aug. 18th, 2013 05:40 pmThe first time we went to Sagres and to Cabo de São Vicente there was more sunshine and there was more blue sky. You also see more of the cliffs there.
The cape is named for St. Vincent of Saragossa and the lighthouse is not just a tourist attraction, it's one of the most powerful in Europe.
The cliffs never fail to impress me:

There are lots of souvenir stalls outside (one of which sells the "letzte Bratwurst vor Amerika") and it gets pretty full, but there is no charge for the carpark - there is a small museum, but you can walk up inside the building complex without a ticket.

Inside all the kids had to have their photo taken on the huge chair:
