Capturing December: Day 8

This is the owl sitting in my Adventskranz which isn't actually a wreath, but a metal bowl-shaped holder for four candles. It's my second owl ornament and I prefer them to more religious imagery. My first association of course is that of wisdom. I choose to ignore the idea of owls as harbingers of doom - apparently some traditions distinguish between owls with ears (wise) and without ears (evils) which was new to me. Well, this one has ears.
