City walls.
Jun. 15th, 2011 08:48 pmHere is a picture of the city walls of the bigger part of my strange two-towns-one-city place of residence. The Industrial Revolution got rid of most of the wall and now just a tiny bit is still around: 600 years old and some fairly bad graffiti on it.

Taken during a three-hour-guided-tour which was more standing than walking, complete with sexist jokes about medieval times. (Giving up your town to have it sacked for three days is okay, because you can bury your valuables. Sadly, this doesn't work for virgins.)
