Let's have a real update for a change.
Oct. 24th, 2010 02:59 pmI've managed to mislay two important documents - my passport and my ID-card. They're both expired, but I need them to collect the new documents I applied for about two months ago. I hope that blogging about them will make them spontaneously appear somewhere.
The holidays are over. I should have done a lot more planning for school - flying by the seat of my pants it is again then.
Because of a series of mishaps, e.g. attempting to hang a picture resulted in having to repaint the wall, we've been a bit reluctant with home improvement projects, but we've bought several smaller bits and pieces of furniture and we are very happy with how our living room turned out: the new sofa is a hit and the panel curtains are great too. The electrician is finally finished - he has left his jacket behind though and will have to return to collect it. We're still waiting for a front door for the flat and the kitchen saga is not over yet. Tomorrow we're supposed to get new cupboard doors - again, because the first replacements were faulty, too. Also, the kid's room smells funky - nope, not the nappies, but an aroma redolent of tomatoes. Any idea what this might be? And then someone put a small dent in my car, which we spotted in the IKEA parking lot though as it turned out it didn't happen there, but probably in front of our house.
The little one still doesn't speak a language that we understand - he keeps on babbling with the right intonation, but the words are only intelligible to him. He's grown a lot, loves eating grown-up food and is mostly charming except for when he's cranky and showing off his temper tantrum skills. He's very close to walking unaided.
All in all, a work in progress.
Edited twice to add things I forgot.
