This is a follow up to frances_lievens's earlier post about the Palast der Republik. The discussion about the fate of this building mirrors the feelings of West and East Germans about re-unification. Some people want to forget the past and pretend it never happened. Others are saying: "Not everything was bad. Let's keep the good stuff". Given the financial situation of Berlin, I'm pretty sure that this won't be the last picture. Private and corporate sponsorship is trying to take over. They will demolish it eventually though - there isn't much of it left anyway.
