I got started on my little project and to celebrate my progress here's another picspam.
On Tuesday, we went on a little roadtrip to a store that is, according to its own advertising, Germany's biggest baby gear and toy market. It was a bit of a letdown - it was big, but they only had the old models of our favourite stroller/travel system.
We're in the middle of a tiny heatwave, so a car with aircon was actually a good place to be! But we braved the heat in search of something to eat and ended up in a picturesque little town full of half-timbered houses. It was too hot to walk up the steep hill to the beauty spot from where you get the full view of the historic core - here's wikipedia to the rescue.
Freudenberg is in the middle of nowhere and if it weren't for the daytrippers and other tourists, it would be very very quiet - not a place where I'd like to live because it's either dead or you've got visitors trampling through your front porch area.
Some impressions:
Old-fashioned shoe shop window display:

With most of the houses being the same style and size the look of the place is rather uniform - another reason for me to not want to live there.

Some buildings are a little bit bigger and better than the others though:

A great spot to just sit and enjoy the day, but what about the tourists?

Not my best pictures, but we were hot and looking for dinner.
