Slightly TMI, advice appreciated.

Now that I've finally found a great remedy for constipation, namely Psyllium seed husks whose German name has led me to call them flea powder, a new, but equally typical side effect of pregnancy has turned up.
Yep, heartburn. I do know what caused it - the dreaded gummy animals and possibly my morning coffee. I've already experienced copious burping after late and rich meals, especially after not refusing a second helping, but now we've progressed onto actual heartburn. God, it's annoying.
And of course, it's a holiday - shops are closed and I don't think this warrants a trip to the emergency pharmacy. Gaviscon seems to be the most common remedy, but I've also found some other ideas - chewing hazelnuts or almonds, sipping a little condensed milk for example. Of course, we don't have these in our cupboards right now. So, do you have any other ideas?
