Easter update.
Apr. 16th, 2009 05:35 pmI started writing this on Good Friday:
This year's Easter holiday seems to shape up to be the opposite of last year's when we had snow.
This year's Good Friday was for family walks in the park, ice-cream, t-shirts and bare legs. There's talk about thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, but the temperatures are supposed to be well above 20°C.
Sunday and Monday we'll be all about family and drive up to SmallTown.
Now it's Thursday and that tells you that I've been in a bit of an uncommunicative mood lately.
Next week is going to be relatively full with three different appointments scheduled: On Tuesday I'll be stopping briefly at my school to collect mail etc. and then we'll look at a potential new place to live. Wednesday is my first yoga class for mothers-to-be. Thursday is my regular doctor's appointment. So, lots of excitement about all that, which maybe explains my current silence: too many unknowns ahead.
I'll post later with pictures of spring in the park and the rapid changes happening there, but first changes happening much closer to home:
April 9, looking for the bump:

It's still tiny:

A week later, there's already more to see:

In other news, the frequent questions from family members about possible names for the offspring prompted the boyfriend to come up with a not quite unique three name combination of epic silliness which, to our horror, we're starting to grow fond of. I don't think we could get away with it because we're not Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, but it's become the little one's 'working title'.

Date: 2009-04-16 06:43 pm (UTC)There's been a significant change in 7 days indeed!
And you hair is darker and longer than it used to be.

Date: 2009-04-16 06:51 pm (UTC)Yes, I felt slightly stupid being so silent after pestering you the other day, but family outings always leave me without words for a couple of days.
My hair looks darker in the picture than it is, but I guess it is darker than it was when you last saw me. If it weren't for the bf's colouring efforts, you'd see lots of white in the first picture!

Date: 2009-04-16 07:26 pm (UTC)Expect noticeable weekly growth from now on.

Date: 2009-04-16 07:54 pm (UTC)Hmm, I guess that means that I'll need to go clothes shopping again...

Date: 2009-04-16 08:03 pm (UTC)I also had some stretchy shirts from H&M and other inexpensive chains I could wear all throughout my pregnancy. You just need to make sure they're long enough so they cover your belly. And when it was cold(er) I wore regular cardigans I didn't close in front.
P.S.: I sent you an email with some lovely head shots. :-D

Date: 2009-04-16 08:21 pm (UTC)I've already stocked up on long and stretchy shirts (you can see two, bought at H&M, in the pics), but I've 'only' got two pairs of maternity jeans and they're both not really suited for warmer weather... I don't have any skirts that I can still wear...
(Can't you tell I just want to go shopping?)
P.S.: Awwww. Too cute.

Date: 2009-04-16 08:48 pm (UTC)Shopping is good. Be prepared for not doing any decent shopping once the baby arrives.

Date: 2009-04-16 09:02 pm (UTC)I do the same things with my posts, I currently have one I started writing on... the 8th, I think.

Date: 2009-04-17 09:24 am (UTC)Ahem, *giggles*, I might reveal it in a locked post later on...
This naming business is hard!

Date: 2009-04-17 07:16 am (UTC)I've also just looked at the park pictures which are lovely. It looks like you have weather like we've been having which is quite cloudy.

Date: 2009-04-17 09:27 am (UTC)I keep on knocking on wood...
Thanks - btw, if you want any of my pictures for icon purposes, I'd be happy to send them to you.
Today, it's grey, cool and rainy - really not nice, but you're right, it was fairly overcast yesterday, but still warm. On Wednesday though it was a real summery day.

Date: 2009-04-17 01:13 pm (UTC)Oh yes please! I love them all! :)

Date: 2009-04-17 03:28 pm (UTC)Sending all might be a tad excessive - drop me an email (sister_ray at gmx dot net) and tell me which ones you'd like... Oh, and I'd love a little credit.

Date: 2009-04-17 06:40 pm (UTC)I have 2 pairs of maternity jeans only...and one maternity dress. That said, I don't have to go through toooo much of the summer whilst pregnant. And when it does get warm, I'll be on leave, so can resort to pjs bottoms and joggers...
Enjoy shopping though! Hee!

Date: 2009-04-18 10:14 am (UTC)I've already spent so much of this year in pjs and joggers that I'm slightly sick of them... (Though they're comfy, so I still wear them all the time, as you can see in the pics....)
I'll wait a little while, I think, to go on a shopping trip to see how much weight I put on elsewhere....

Date: 2009-04-18 10:35 am (UTC)And that's a good idea. I was a freak and LOST it everywhere apart from up top...gone up 2 cup sizes, but gone DOWN almost 2 clothes sizes in trousers... That said, I still weigh over 10kg less than when I got pregnant, so that's not a huge surprise.
One of my other pregnant friends had her son at 0330 this morning. I am squeaking over pictures of him at a couple of hours old...I'm getting seriously antsy now!
