I'm on holiday and while I've been terribly unproductive the last three days I've actually got a couple of things to do in the next two weeks. I'm writing them down now to motivate myself to actually do them.

Lots of tidying and cleaning. Especially the office.

Sorting out my wardrobe, i.e. getting everything out, deciding on things to throw out and making sure everything is folded nicely again.

Go to the cinema at least once, preferably twice. They're showing Burn After Reading on Wednesday and though I'll be annoyed by the subtitles it's better than watching a dubbed version. Also, there's Der Bader-Meinhof-Komplex. I don't usually go for films depicting history, but I think I want to see that one.

Lots of marking: Need to fine-tune the marking on the Year 13 essays and there are Year 11 essays and Year 10 classtests waiting for my attention. Writing down the marks for all my pupils for the first quarter of this school year.

Doing some shopping - I need a second set of presentable pyjamas and maybe buying some other nice clothes will make me feel less gloomy. Also, collect the Buffy comics waiting for me.

Visiting the family to celebrate the 20 year wedding anniversary of my dad and my stepmom. It's probably not the best date to bring up that doctor's appointment and all that it entails, but I think it's time I got their support (and they can't give it to me if they don't know anything about it).

Planning lessons and doing some other school chores.

Finally tackling bureaucratic nightmare that means I'll get the money back I spent on doctors' visits so far this year.

That looks like a lot, doesn't it? Sometimes I don't want to be a responsible grown-up, but I know that I am. I feel a bit like Buffy in Lie to Me, but I think I'm past the phase where I want people to lie to me.

Don't forget to write some things on LJ every once in a while and take pictures whenever the lighting's good. ;-)

Have a good holiday, sweetheart. You deserve and need it.

*hugs*

Oh yes, that reminds me - I need to get the project week photos printed.

Thanks - it doesn't feel like a holiday with all the stuff that has to be done, but I'll try to mix in some nice stuff, too.

I went to the cinema on Saturday and watched The Bank Job which I enjoyed. Also I can't remember if you finally saw Das Leben der Anderen, if not, it's on ARTE tonight!

I had a parents meeting today again so I'm just back from school, very tired. I'm envious because I have to wait until the 24th of October to be on holiday. Good luck with the marking!

Oh, they're currently showing The Bank Job here, too, in its original version, but it didn't sound that appealing to me.

I don't think that Das Leben der Anderen is the right thing for tonight (I want some nice escapism), but I'll tape it. Thanks for letting me know. BTW, I got my dad the ARTE magazine for his birthday.

I saw The Bank Job by chance. I hadn't heard of it at all and it was quite a good surprise !

Das Leben der Anderen is a must-see, very touching; you HAVE to watch it some day, but I understand that you might not be in the mood tonight.

I definitely do want to see it - tried to borrow the DVD from a colleague last winter but as it was a Christmas present for her husband she didn't want to give it to me over the holidays. She had brought the DVD to school to watch it with her pupils. A great way of making the most out of a Christmas present!
