Lunch today consisted of two Snickers sandwiches. At least, that's what I call them.

There is no caramel in them, but they're still an extremely yummy version of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I spread crunchy peanut butter (organic, with a little sea salt and nothing else) on a slice of bread and top it off with hazelnut chocolate spread. You can use Nutella, but being a snob I again use a healthfood brand, because it contains more hazelnuts and less sugar.

I believe this sandwich to be my own creation. Have you invented a sandwich or revolutionary dish, too? Let me know, even if it's something that makes other people frown.

You should ask P. He puts any kind of leftovers on bread.

Any kind?

When I lived in England, I used to put leftover vegetable or chicken curry between two slices of bread for my lunch sandwich. That was nice.

But I wouldn't put leftover pasta on bread. I get slightly weirded out by the mixing of carbs, like the boyfriend's favourite childhood meal of "pasta and potatoes in browned butter" (Nudeln und Kartoffeln in gebräunter Butter) or as I saw in Glasgow, I think, chips and pasta in creamy white sauce in the same bowl.

I haven't seen him do it with leftover pasta, no. But any kind of leftover meat will end up on his sandwich, or leftover vegetable stew or something.

You made me buy speculaaspasta (http://www.lotusbakeries.com/Frontoffice/EyeCatcher.aspx) with your post. It's all the hype over here, because the lady who invented it got it commercialised through a reality program where people could show off their inventions. She didn't win (which would mean commercialisation), but everyone loved it so much, the company that makes the cookies on which it is based, decided to invest money in it.
Now it stands in jars right next to the peanut butter and nutella. It should taste like smearing cookies on your bread. I still have to try.

Hmm, interesting stuff that! But wouldn't just putting a biscuit on a slice of bread (with maybe some butter as well if you want to indulge yourself) be a crunchier, and thus inherently better experience?
