sister_luckOpen day at school today.
For the first time in the nearly five years I've worked there I invited my parents to have a look at the place where I spend a big chunk of my weekdays. Introducing your parents to your colleagues and bosses is slightly weird. Here's the proof that you're a grown up now with a responsible job and so on. They're quite impressed and you enjoy showing them around.
Except for this moment when a colleague asks my father a question which he doesn't quite understand and he answers while putting his arm around me and squeezing hard: "I'm just visiting my Töchterchen."
As you can probably guess, that's the diminutive form of daughter.
It's sweet in a way and I'm lucky to have them and I'm glad that we've got a good relationship.
Still, it made me feel about thirteen.
