Sunday afternoon update
Jan. 28th, 2007 03:26 pmI think I broke the boyfriend. No - not what you think. I just gave him my cold. Helping some friends move yesterday probably made it worse. Especially as there was still some slushy snow up there and we got wet feet. But it was fun - chaotic fun. Now we've got sore muscles, but it was a good workout. It also meant that when we came home at half past eight we were too tired to go here.
And just to show you that I'm completely crazy, I'll share some pictures I took yesterday of decaying fruit and veg leftover from Christmas. The friend we were helping had them in a box out on his balcony. The white stuff is frost, not mould.

Now they're thinking about having these up as posters for their kitchen...
We didn't get any proper snow here. There was about a centimetre or two of rather wet snow here on Friday, but it disappeared overnight. Still, it was cold last week. The colours of the landscape were muted and life seemed suspended.

Date: 2007-01-28 05:08 pm (UTC)Well, I'm glad it wasn't summer or they would have been rotting away. This was a mix of freeze-drying and mummification, I think. The citrus fruits seemed totally unaffected. The colours were really vibrant, too.

Date: 2007-01-29 05:10 pm (UTC)Thanks. Mouldy citrus fruit is disgusting, but not as bad as milk leaking out of the container and congealing at the bottom of the fridge. (My flatmate in England got really angry with me for leaving a grapefruit on the windowsill where it disintegrated. The mess she made with the milk was worse and she was on holiday when it happened, so I had to clean it out. - I'm still angry at her....)
