I grew up in a city with a famous river:



Close to the Rhine, there is a beautiful Lustschloss, a pleasure palace, built for an important local ruler as a holiday home.

This is the main building, the Corps de Logis. You cannot see the two large wings for the servants etc. which today house two museums about natural history and landscape gardening.

This year they have a Christmas market on weekends and it is also a favourite spot for wedding photographers:



It was a little too warm for a true Christmas atmosphere though and the ice sculptures turned into puddles:
