That Swedish furniture store again.
Jan. 29th, 2010 08:53 pmA short pre-moving IKEA visit today to look at office furniture and to buy some odds and ends. It's a cliché by now, but of course we bought more than intended. The extra items were a lamp and some finger puppets.
We'd also planned to pick up some of those things that always seem to get lost during a move - like the little metal studs that hold up the boards in the book shelves and the contraption that you use to attach a big piece of furniture to the wall so that it can't tip over. It used to be that you could just walk up to the service counter and grab a bunch of the stuff that you needed. Things have changed. Now, there's a vending machine and you need a one-Euro-piece to get a tiny bag with the item(s) you need - and a voucher for a free drink. So, what did we do? Took up the offer and bought something to eat as well. I feel a bit tricked.
