Lots of long days - Tuesday was the worst, with me leaving home at 7 a.m. and returning at 8 p.m. after an exhausting session of meetings with parents. The ten-minute slots allocated to discussing a student's progress, both personally and academically, are just not enough in many cases.
K got a treat on Monday when a friend called to offer a spare Muse ticket for that night.
Wednesday was just another school day. Oh, and Kingston smiled at the midwife who weighed and measured him: 3690 gms and 54 cm. Still tiny - he was twelve weeks on Sunday! Not as skinny anymore, he's not exactly getting chubby, but his legs have started to fill out nicely.
Thursday, a much-needed day off, which meant a visit to the dentist in SmallTown for the grown-ups and playtime for Kingston with the grandparents who don't constantly invite themselves. (Those have been on a skiing holiday for most of this week.)
Friday, a short but chaotic day at school, as we've been preparing for tomorrow's Open Day.
We cope well with pumping and feeding and domestic chores as long as things go according to plan - this afternoon briefly descended into chaos when I was woken from a much-needed nap by cries for help: The washing machine had played up resulting in a puddle on the kitchen floor - and with a baby strapped to his front K couldn't get rid of it. It's all fixed now, but to top it off the washing line fell down, too, with the sopping wet laundry much too heavy for it. It's all been washed again - this time the spin cycle worked properly and the excess water was drained from the machine.
Tomorrow I'm meant to be at school for the Open Day - my only job is to be there, so I've decided to take the whole family along.
Sunday will be the day of rest.
