While U Wait. (Personal Edition)
Aug. 20th, 2009 11:25 amToday was forecast to be the hottest day of the year, but we seem to have dodged that particular bullet thanks to overcast skies - it's summery, but so far nothing like the 37°C we were supposed to get. But then it's not even noon yet.
The first of three parcels to arrive in the next couple of days was delivered today - ordering stuff on the internet is indeed very convenient and I love the buzz of unpacking and unwrapping. And it's just too sweet to see K getting all worked up about this little creature. Whoever named that little bunny knows exactly how to make our generation fall in love and spend money - Möre Bröd conjures up memories of the chef from the Muppets (Danish in German, not Swedish as in the original) because his most famous lines are "Smørrebrød, Smørrebrød røm, pøm, pøm, pøm“. Plus - Möhre is the German word for carrot, which of course rabbits love to eat. Awwww.
It's heating up outside now, so it's time to close the remaining open windows and wait until tonight to open them again. It worked wonders yesterday - it didn't get warmer than 25°C in here while it was in the low 30s outside. I'm so glad that I don't have to leave the house. Yesterday's short trip to my doctor plus a little shopping was quite enough. I'm already looking forward to tonight's thunderstorms - should they indeed materialize as promised.
