Soaking wet.
Jul. 5th, 2007 08:37 pmWe've still got April skies.
Running errands in the rain is very special. Of course, we found the perfect moment when the drizzle and occasional dry spell were replaced by a torrential downpour. We were lucky as there wasn't any hail. Even a rainjacket and an umbrella didn't help much. We laughed about it mostly - sheltering in an abandoned cafe's doorway and marvelling at the straight lines in which the rain was coming down. I wanted to take a picture of the rain drops exploding on the street, but then the lights changed to green at the pedestrian crossing and I was grabbed by the arm and we ran on narrowly avoiding the huge puddles that had formed. My feet stayed dry in my new shoes, but the legs of my jeans were wet up to the knees. Walking down the streets, huddled together under a tiny umbrella held at an angle is kind of cosy.
On the way back it was dry again.
