It's all a question of interpretation.

The girl has been sent to the experts for some tests. There seems to be something wrong with her. She just can't do Maths. She's good at drawing though, so she's happy when that nice man, who isn't strict with her as she thought he would be, asks her to draw a picture of her family. As animals. That's easy, she can do that.
So she draws herself as a deer, not quite Bambi, a yearling, maybe? Next to her, there's her mother. She's a horse with a broad back - her favourite animal. The girl adds the twins, between her mother and her stepfather. The little boy is a cute little dog and the girl is a squirrel. All of them look in the same direction, at the animal that's on the left. That's her stepfather. He's a crocodile. His huge jaws are shut, but you can see the long, sharp teeth. He is staring back.
Today:
The expert has got her drawing in front of him. He says:
"Don't be misled. This doe, she's not a meek little creature. Look at her front leg how it's lifted up coquettishly. She can handle herself. She's a Kampf-Reh, a killer bambi. And observe, how there's no clear leader in this picture. The deer on the right - she can do what she wants. That crocodile? It's actually a nice crocodile."
