Bumper cars.
The airbrush paintings on fairground attractions fascinate me. They are the last vestige of the tradition of hand-painted representations of popular culture. Cinemas used to employ painters to make billboards advertising their films - bigger than the standard movie posters but using similar images. (And even the regular cinema posters didn't have photos but painted versions of the photos.) Today there is only photoshop.
On our recent holiday in Portugal there was also a huge fair which we visited in the daytime when it was still closed. I took some pictures of the bumper car ride - I must warn you that whoever did the pictures isn't that good with likenesses but a big fan of sexism.

This one is not too bad - the hat helps to a) make sure you recognise who this is, b) to disguise the horrible plastic surgery and c) to obscure the fact that the painter is just not good with faces. Anyway, the King of Pop is a staple of fairground portraiture.

This one, on the other hand, is a little off - this is supposed to be Tobey McGuire and Kirsten Dunst, right? One cannot be sure.

I believe this also comes from a popular film franchise. There might have been a book, too, but I doubt the painter knew. Help me out - who is that person on the left?!

Now we go from badly-painted to down-right icky. At least Marilyn isn't flashing her boobs. As to the other woman? Anatomically impossible, I suspect.

The camera refused to focus on the upskirt on a motorcycle picture.

This one has me a little confused. Is it a girl-on-girl kiss or is one of them a long-haired hippy guy?
Laugh or cry?
I suppose ridicule is the best option.
