Gallery.

I promised you more about the gallery.

The gallery is connected to the LAC, the project that has brought all the street art to Lagos. Their facebook page shows their latest creative endeavours - and there is a lot going on at the moment because today they're opening the exposition for this year's residencies of artists. Here is their blog.
LAC's headquarters is located in the old prison and we still haven't managed to go there, but now they also have a gallery in town:

Earlier that night, he had told me it was his first day on the job at the gallery. He told me he would explain everything to us. I did not ask who all the people on the stencils are which you can see in this earlier post. I don't know whether it was some misplaced sense of shame that I didn't recognise them or because the kid kept distracting me.

I also really wanted to buy something - there were stencils done on large paper doilies for cakes, but putting them in the suitcase would have meant having to fold them.

I am really crap at going to art galleries. I manage to look, but that's all!

We all enjoyed the exposition in the back with experimental photography done with a pinhole camera.

More of the street art made by artists invited by LAC to come in later posts.
