In other news, I don't appreciate it when a pupil shows me a small dark speck on his hand and then informs me that it is a head louse picked off a classmate's head. The trouble is that he's probably right, as he knows what he's talking about having just recently had lice himself. All the parents have been informed (and received the official brochure) and while most have checked their children's heads this particular girl hasn't been looked at by her parents. I've tried calling them and if I can't reach them we'll have to send their daughter back home on Monday morning. The girl herself is in total denial and her friends are afraid to talk to her.
*scratches head*
I didn't look at her head too closely, because it would have come down to naming and shaming - and immediately removing her from class. It was the last lesson of the day after all.
